EMDEN – The Trianel Windpark Borkum GmbH & Co. KG (Trianel) continues to focus on its long-term collaboration with Ems Maritime Offshore GmbH (EMO) from Emden.
On 29 January 2020, EMO signed a three-year charter contract for the Crew Transfer Vessel (CTV) MS “WINDEA three” with Trianel until the end of 2022. This special-purpose vessel, developed for operation in offshore wind farms is to succeed its sister ship, the MS “WINDEA one”, which has been in operation for Trianel since 2013. It is now to be used from Borkum for another client.
Since February of this year, the MS “WINDEA three” has transported service technicians and freight to the offshore wind farm “Tiranel Windpark Borkum”, 45 km north of the island of Borkum.
“After approximately seven previous years of successful collaboration between EMO and Trianel, we are looking forward to continuing our support of the project with our CTV “WINDEA three” during the operating phase”, says Knut Gerdes, Managing Director of EMO. The offshore wind farm consists of two phases, each with an output volume of 200 MW. EMO has accompanied the project since the construction phase with the MS “WINDEA one” and provides logistical units on Borkum.
“We are delighted that the constructive collaboration between EMO and Trianel is to be continued. Our previous experiences in the operating phase have shown that EMO is a reliable and professional partner in all matters”, says Jan Heukrodt, Logistics Manager at Trianel Windkraftwerk Borkum GmbH & Co. KG. “To be emphasised in particular is the long-standing trustworthy and professional collaboration at operative level between the EMO team and the team at Trianel”, emphasises Jan Heyenga, Head of the Maritime Services Division at EMO.
The 26 m-long, “Twin Axe” type catamaran from the DAMEN shipyard has a top speed of 25 knots. The ship is able to convey up to 24 passengers and up to 15 tonnes of freight. A three-man crew operates the vessel.
